The Prime Ministers of Mongolia and Japan held a meeting together, issuing a joint statement by the end The Prime Minister of Mongolia, Mr. U.Khurelsukh, paid an official visit to Japan on 13 December, 2018. He held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Shinzo Abe, to discuss the possibilities to further strengthen co-operation. Later the official meeting, both prime ministers issued a joint statement to strengthen strategic partnership. During the first session of the meeting, Mr. Shinzo Abe congratulated Mr. U.Khurelsukh, “Congratulations to Prime Minister of Mongolia, Mr. U.Khurelsukh, for coming to visit Japan for the first time after the appointment”. Mr. U.Khurelsukh highlighted the importance of Japan being the third neighbor to Mongolia. By the end of the meeting the Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. U.Khurelsukh, expressed his support in comprehending Mongolia to ASEAN meeting. He confirmed his initiatives to strengthen ties with Indo-Pacific countries that are walking the same pathway as Japan does in terms of establishment of regional peace and stability. After the discussion, Mr. U.Khurelsukh and Mr. Shinzo Abe signed the Memorandum of co-operation between the Ministries of Environment.
